  • 5/6 full tackle
  • 7/8 full tackle

Flag Football

  • k-2
  • 3/4
  • 5/6

Cheer

Please note that volunteering is not optional. Parent/Guardian volunteers are the only way to maintain our all-volunteer organization. By registering, you agree to shift in the snack shack and aid in other game-day activities. We appreciate that this can be a hardship for some families. Volunteer shifts can be covered by proxy if the commitments are fulfilled by someone over 18 years old. Please let us know if you have any questions.

GRESHAM YOUTH FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION

GYFA is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the development of football skills, cheer & character for our Gresham area student-athletes

We welcome students entering the K through 8th grade each fall, who reside in the Gresham High School boundary area.

K-2nd Flag football athletes are introduced to football & the concepts with 7 on 7 modified and play on a half field.

3rd & 4th-grade Flag football athletes are introduced/continue to learn football & the concepts with 7 on 7 modified and play on a half field.

5th & 6th-grade Flag football athletes are introduced/continue to learn football & the concepts with 7 on 7 modified and play on a half field.

3rd & 4th-grade athletes are introduced to football & the concepts with 7 on 7 modified, half field, rookie tackle.

5th & 6th-grade athletes experience 11 on 11 full field, full tackle.

7th & 8th- JV and Varsity, will also play 11 on 11 full field, full tackle.

Our goal is to develop well-rounded athletes who grow into our high school program.  Our home field is the turf field at Gresham High School where we play home games. Our athletes love playing on the turf. Most GYFA upper games are announced. Our athletes love hearing their names over the PA at the field, just like a High School game.

Our staff works with the GHS Varsity Head Football Coach to acquaint the young athletes through practice, football camps and coaching clinics with an emphasis on common terminology, offensive schemes and defensive formations throughout their athletic years in the Gresham School District.

Our athletes are outstanding young citizens who represent our values on and off the field.
